
Class Offerings
Asana: Students across all levels can participate, including beginners. Props like yoga blocks, belts, blankets, and chars may be used. A gentle and slow flow of carefully designed sequences will set the tone for your balanced and energized day ahead.
Yoga Nidra: Yoga Nidra is an art of conscious relaxation that leads to an experience of physical rejuvenation and refreshment of the mind. Students can completely lie down comfortably or sit down on a comfortable chair to receive this benefit of the ancient meditation technique.
Restorative Yoga: Restorative yoga is passive and less dynamic yoga that softens the muscles by keeping the posture supported by props and holding the posture for an extended time. It allows the tensions to fall away by promoting a sense of calm, relaxation, and overall well-being. This practice is accessible to all ages and fitness levels.
Pranayama: Pranayama uses the breath to direct and expand the flow of prana through energy channels in our bodies – called the nadis. Pranayama exercises help us to clear physical and emotional blocks or obstacles in the body so that the breath, and prana can flow freely.
Bhagavad Gita: The Bhagavad Gita is a map and a guidebook that is 5,000 years old. It gives us a systematic overview of the territory [of life], shows various approaches to the summit with their benefits and pitfalls, offers recommendations, tells us what to pack and what to leave behind. It asks and answers the questions that you or I might ask. Questions not about philosophy or mysticism, but about how to live life effectively in a world of challenge and change.
My offerings
After my first yoga class in summer 2003, I remember seeing small letters on street signs a few blocks away in midtown Manhattan, and I felt the springs on my steps that had lifted me up since. The path of yoga has taken me not only to practice Asanas but also to keep learning and hearing about Bhagavad Gita and Bhakti Yoga. I offer yoga classes to like-minded yoga practitioners as my sincere service to the Divine Source.
